Bio

Composer, arranger, keyboardist and audio engineer, Leonard “Lenny” Wee was born and raised in Singapore. After graduating from the Music Elective Programme at Anglo-Chinese Junior College, Lenny moved to Boston to further his musical studies at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston. He garnered multiple awards and scholarships during his tenure at the college, including the Milican Award for orchestral composition. Upon graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music.

Since moving to Los Angeles, Lenny has composed, arranged and orchestrated music for numerous top television shows, notably American Idol, The Grammys and VH1 Divas, as well as a tenure as staff arranger on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He has also been music production manager on notable live productions such as the Superbowl, the Clive Davis Pre Grammy Gala as well as concerts at the White House.

Lenny has arranged and conducted performances for acts such as Cee Lo Green, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Natalie Cole, Carrie Underwood, Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson, Michael McDonald, Aretha Franklin and Christina Aguilera.

As a composer, Lenny regularly wrote original music on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. His compositions have also been featured on various television shows including the telethon, Stand Up To Cancer.

In addition to being an arranger and orchestrator, Lenny has also served as recording and mix engineer for numerous television shows including American Idol, The Oprah Winfrey Show, A Home for the Holidays and the TV Land Awards. Wee recently participated in Idina Menzel’s 2017 world tour as music playback mixer, keyboardist and background vocalist. He also played keyboards and sang background vocals in the house band of the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.
